Ready to change your agent? Please follow the step by step instructions below.
1. Give Notice
Find out how much notice you are required to give your current agent. This can be up to 3 months and should be checked in the Terms of Business you signed.
2. Get Tenant Details & Paperwork
Ask your agent to provide you with contact details of your tenant and provide you with all the copies held on the tenants files.* Make sure to get them to arrange the final check-out inventory and release the deposit back to the tenants (ie, not to you). Arrange when to collect keys and how to receive back any float fund remaining in their client account.
*Documents such as the Tenancy Agreement, deposit protection certificate and prescribed information, check-in inventory, EPC, Gas Safety Certificate, final referencing reports, etc.
3. Talk to Us
We will either meet you in person to go through the paperwork or send them to you.
4. Our Communication with Tenants
We will liaise with the tenants regarding the change-over and reassure them of the process. We would also be happy to meet and confirm, among others:
- Who we are and our contact details;
- When and how the change will take place;
- The paperwork that will need to be completed (if tenants are remaining) – Tenancy Agreement and a new Standing Order;
- How we will transfer and protect their deposit.
5. Complete the Handover
We will collect the keys from you or your agent and send a summary of the Handover via email.
